On the 15th, we went to the hospital at 8 pm. They started the pills that softened my cervix. I took a sleeping pill and slept most of the night. Poor Chris didn't get any sleep. He was way too excited. Around 5 am, we were up and they started my 2nd dose of antibiotics. I had a few contractions, mostly back labor, but nothing consistent. At 8 am, the doctor came in and broke my water. WHAT A WEIRD FEELING! lol. At 9 am they started the pitocin and it took NO time for contractions to start happening, hard and frequent. I felt like my back was breaking. At 10 am, I was finally 3 cm so they allowed me to get an epidural, which I'm glad I did. Around 1, I was 5 cm and some of our family showed up. It was nice to be able to relax a little bit with them before contractions got really hard. At 3, I was still a 5. At 445, I started to feel an incredible amount of pressure on my tailbone and when the nurse checked I was a 9! I was given an extra dose of the epidural medicine but it didn't help for long. Soon contractions got intense and I started to feel like I needed to push! I'm not sure how long I actually pushed for..i believe about an hour. I did tear a little but not incredibly bad.

Brodie Oliver James was born at 7:05 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 21 inches long. He scored a 9 on the apgar scale. He has a full head of hair Chris did a WONDERFUL job! He was so afraid he was going to pass out or something. But he supported me perfectly.. and he EVEN LOOKED! haha.

And I was also able to start breastfeeding! I started making colostrum ( alot of it!) so it's looking good so far. Just hoping milk actually comes in. The lactation consultants were a tremendous help. We ended up stayin an extra night just to get a little more help with breastfeeding.

And we are so in love with this little guy. He is by far the greatest thing to ever happen to us

I felt that way with my epidural about pushing... The nurse told me to keep pushing the button if I needed to but it only did so much! I was grateful to onow when to push on my own though. DH watched our birth as well, which we both thought wouldn't happen... Maybe guys have more of the train wreck syndrome going on? Haha.

I'm glad the induction went well. And he is a cutie!! With a ton of hair!
