Its taken forever for me to get to it, but here it is.

It's pretty short and sweet as my delivery was a planned c-section.

Hubby and I arrived at the hospital at 6am and my delivery was scheduled for 8am. They hooked me up to the fetal monitors when I first arrived. Then my 2 nurses came in to start the prep work. Lucky me I got a fresh newbie nurse, who did not know how to put in an IV for the life of her. I am the last person who needs a nurse who doesn't know what she is doing because of my little needle phobia. She was a sweet person and I felt bad, but seriously I still have a small mark on my hand from where she shoved it in at (which also took about 20 minutes). At this point I was starting to get light headed and dizzy. My contractions had picked up and baby girl's heart rate was decreasing for some reason. They quickly got me to my side got me oxygen and gave me another shot of terbutaline because it seemed Dakota wasn't doing well with the contractions. All the sudden I had a team of everyone outside my room, they were thinking they may have to do a quick emergency c-section if her heart rate didn't pick up and my doc was still 15 minutes out from arriving. Luckily everything got back under control quickly. I walked in to the OR at exactly 7:59am I got some good drugs, laid back and what seemed a few short minutes later my sweet baby boy Dalton Alan was born. He came out screaming and full of life. 6 lbs 9 oz and 19" long. 1 minute later Dakota Marie arrived 5 lbs 4 oz and 19" long ( although I seriously think they were off on her length a little bit, she is a bit smaller then her brother), it took her a minute to find her voice but boy does she have some lungs (when she wants to use them)!! The babes were in my view the whole time with their baby nurses. Both babes were brought to me right away so I could have a peek. It was amazing how I felt instant relief when Dalton was first pulled out, I could actually breathe again and after Dakota came out I felt even 10x better. Afterwards the docs did the tubal ligation and sewed me back up and I was then on my way to recovery.

Both babes were able to come to recovery for the 2 hours with me along with their nurses so they could continue to have their checks done as well. Then we were headed off to our room. The babes pretty much slept the entire hospital stay. The nurse had me up and moving the 1st night and by the 2nd day I was able to shower on my own. I felt great upon leaving. It was a much more easier delivery this time around.

So there you have it

Aww I'm glad it went so smoothly! Well, minus the newbie nurse and the scare Dakota gave you, but there always has to be something, right?

I'm not nearly as patient as you when it comes to someone trying to stick me with a needle. If someone kept jabbing me and couldn't get it in, I would probably snap and ask them if I could stab them with it. But I'm totally a B like that. As for little miss Dakota, I am going to say she is probably gonna be a drama queen. Having you all worried about her before she even came out. Lil stink. Glad that things went so smooth for you. I just love the pics of them.

Amanda I almost went off on her!! I was trying really hard to be nice about it and I even forwarned them I HATE needles thinking the "seasoned" nurse would step in and take over. But Nooooo!! My DH always calls me a baby about it but even he said it looked pretty painful!
