I decided to be induced. DH and I headed to the hospital a little after 8am. I was all hooked up and ready to go by 8:30. I was given Pitocin which was slightly increased every 20 mins until I started a regular/strong contraction pattern. This pattern came on about 10:30, after the Dr. broke my water. I was about 4cm. By 11am the contractions were getting stronger and they started to reduce the pitocin. I decided to get some IV pain relief, and was given Stadol - what a difference that made!! I was able to completely relax between each contraction and get through the contractions without issue. Around 11:30 I was 7cm, cervix was very thin. Labor continued to progress by noon I was 8cm with a rim and they started to prep the room. By 12:30 I was ready to push, they called the Dr's in and I started pushing at 12:35 and Samuel made his entrance at 12:44pm. It was a very relaxed and simple birth. His lungs were strong from the get go. He weighed 8lbs 4oz and measured 20 1/2 inches long. We are truly blessed!
