What diapers do you plan on using? Are you going to start stocking up before baby gets here?

I use huggies snug and dry. so everytime I buy pull ups for the twins, I get a case of number 2's for this baby. I have 2 packs of ones and 3 boxes of 2's

I love the Pampers Swaddlers. My husband just picked up our first jumbo box of size 1 yesterday. I know my family will get all the newborn diapers. We are going to try to pick up a package a week to really stock up

I normally use Huggies

I would like to start slowly stocking up on diapers but I'm afraid of the baby being not being able to use them for some reason. Then I'd be stuck with diapers I can't use. Unless they let me return them.

We also use cloth, primarily. We have a pretty decent stash already built (we didn't use cloth with Liam as a newborn). I also have grabbed a couple packs of Huggies because I don't want to get frustrated with cloth and have no disposables in the house. With Liam, it took a while to get the right kind, fit, etc. And with all the adjusting, I want to have a couple packs on hand.

Pampers Swaddlers and I will get a size 1-2 combo box from Sam's and then buy some more 2's and up. Newborn diapers I will only buy maybe one pack of because that seems to be what people like to buy!

I used Pampers Swaddlers when DS was an infant and later switched to store brand; I'll do the same with this one I'm sure. I'll start gradually stocking up once I have a positive U/S.

I'm using GMD prefolds, a variety of PUL and Wool covers, and also some AIO's for when the baby gets big enough to fit them!

I started buying prefolds and covers before we got pregnant. I have quite a stash so far

We used to buy the Walmart brand diapers, and ocassionallly would pick up bulk diapers from Costco.

I think I will start picking up Swaddlers diapers to stash so I have a nice collection when the baby arrives, and as the baby gets older and I start running out, I will switch back to the cheaper diapers to help save on money!

I really want to use cloth, but I am completely and utterly overwhelmed by the number of different types/brands/choices. Most people I know who have used cloth in the past have commented that it took them awhile to figure out what type worked best for their baby. Is there some way to buy different types and try them and then return them? I just don't want to end up getting stuck with a bunch of diapers that we can't use.

I felt the same way which is why it took me so long to switch to cloth! I regret so much not starting when Layla was born. Oh the money I would have saved!!
The AIO or pocket diapers are probably your best bet. They tend to be a little more expensive than prefolds but they are the closest to disposables.
A lot of diaper companies are offering free trials now where you can try a set of their diapers for so many weeks and if you don't like them, you can send them back.
You're most likely not going to HATE any of the ones you buy but you might prefer some over others.
What you can do if you really don't like them is resell them on ebay or fluff swappers on facebook

This will tell you more about each kind: peaceful parenting: The ABCs of Going Cloth

These are my absolute FAVORITE diapers out of all the different kinds I have and also some of the cheapest, especially since they are one size so they fit from birth until potty training. They are the softest and most comfy diapers and a lot easier to clean than some of my other ones. I have about 6 or 7 different brands in my stash. 16 U PICK AIO BABY CLOTH DIAPER 1 SIZE + 16 INSERTS - eBay (item 220724494723 end time Mar-13-11 21:47:39 PDT)

I have to have every new print I see. My excuse is that it's a totally functional addiction and we can sell them all when the babies grow out of them!
