How old were you when you had your first boyfriend? My first serious one at age 12. He's still my best friend forever =)

At what age do you think you'll let your own children date? I had a really open relationship with my mom and I plan to raise my kids the same way. I started dating when I was ready and my mom helped me learn that respect and honesty were the most important things in a relationship. I always went to her for advice but made my own decisions. She supported me through everything I did and I think I was more responsible because she trusted me so much. That made a huge impact on me and I plan to do the same with my kids. =)

I never really have. When I started dating my DH, we just went to each others house and hung out. It wasn't until two years after dating that we actually went on a "date" lol


At what age do you think you'll let your own children date?
I want to have an open relationship with my children, so I'll discuss it with them. I think it is important to not judge them and actually listen to them, probably because my parents freaked out any time I got a boyfriend.
Also, it depends on you definition of "date". I've had boyfriends from age 12 to 13 but they didn't last past a week or two and I never really met them outside of school.

How old were you when you had your first boyfriend? first "boyfriend" was when i was 11 but that hardly counts.. I had boyfriends in middle school and highschool but my first real serious one was when i was 16 and we dated until after our first year of college..

I would love for my kids to feel like they could talk to me about that stuff.. even my son lol I would like them to wait until highschool obviously but I'll talk to them about it as soon as I feel it needs to be..

Where did you go on your first real date? We went to the movies, but my dad dropped me off - I was 14 and my boyfriend was 16 (freshmen/junior in HS) so my dad didn't trust him! It was a long time before they let him pick me up himself, but I don't remember where we went on that first date.


At what age do you think you'll let your own children date? Never!! Haha just kidding I don't know, I mean 14 seems SO young to me, but I remember thinking my parents were so far behind the times because all my friends had dated. I think it will just depend on my kid's maturity levels.

Where did you go on your first real date? We went to see Lethal Weapon 3 which we saw at Northgate Cinemas--they tore that theater down a couple years ago and I was so sad! But our first kiss was during Far and Away.


At what age do you think you'll let your own children date? I personally don't have a specific age in mind, I think all kids mature differently and it's best to see where they're at and decide what seems best.
