So I had my ultrasound today. At first my OB had me scheduled with the regular imaging center in the clinic. But this morning my high risk OB (same clinic) called to see if I'd be willing to come in earlier and do the ultrasound with them. They have techs that just do high risk ultrasounds all day and they look for diffrent things than the regular center that does the ultrasounds. So we decided to do that.
So we get in and baby was stubborn right off the bat. It kicked the probe then started to roll. First it's head was on my right, 5 minutes in it move it's head so it was sitting up right, then 5 minutes later it's head was on my left. The tech tried to check what it was right away, but Baby locked it's legs. So the tech did some measurements and said she'd come back to that. So half way she tried again. Baby straightened out but still had it's legs locked together. She then finished what she could. She couldn't get the heart or a profile shot because of baby's position. So she went back for a third time to see if she could get a money shot.
This time baby curled it's legs into it's body, still locked together, and you could see it's little butt. It looked like three little lines to me. Then the tech said "Well I can't be 100% because baby is being stubborn, but I'm comfortable to guess IT'S A GIRL!" She then said my next ultrasound July 11 they'll be able to tell better. She then said if it was her she'd feel comfortable enough to buy pink. DH has enough faith in someone that does high risk OB ultrasounds all day to call what it is without a 100% clear shot.
I saw my OB after and she reminded us that a she can turn into a he, but if the tech said girl most likely it is. The heart rate was 154, which is lower than what DS's was (he was 160s the whole pregnancy). My placenta is in the front so that's why I only feel her kicking on the sides and not front. DH is super excited!
awe yay!!!!!!! hope your tech was right and you get a baby girl!!!

Well we went to Target tonight. DH exchanged the boy diapers for another pack of girl. Then he got some socks, 2 onesies, and DS picked out a little over dress cotton sweater thing.
Your experience sounds a lot like mine. Our baby girl had her legs all locked up for both ultrasounds, and we only got a few brief looks at her "parts." I also have my placenta in the front, and heartrate is about 153bpm!
