Ok, so not a millionth but you know. I didn't get any comments like that with Q. Like zero. None. I also weighed about 15 lbs more when I got pg with him. So maybe it's that. And maybe people are just being nice but it's starting to freak the sh*t out of me. I've heard it from moms, men, people committed to not having children, etc. Someone told me I look like I'm 5 months along.
My doctor also kind of said as a throw away type of statement that I'm about a centimeter off for my weeks.
I'm starting to get paranoid. It doesn't help that she's super mellow. Gah! Even if things are going ok, pregnancy can be so nerve-wracking.

Amen!
I've also gotten a handful of comments about how small my belly looks. For a split second I also get a little bit paranoid, but then I remember that I'm 30 pounds heavier than I was about 8 months ago and I feel better (sort of ).

I'm having the opposite problem. People think I'm ready to pop when I'm not, and my midwife said I'm not measuring above-normal at all.
I think people just have an idea in their heads of what pregnant women should look like, and you're never it perfectly. So they make comments. Because apparently that's OK to totally destroy pregnant womens' nerves, and then touch their tummies. Bah!

People say that to me at work because I wear scrubs. "Oh you're so small". I'd love to shock them one day and lift up my scrub top and be like, this looks small to you??

Until just the last few weeks, people thought I was just fat, not pregnant. I've gained no weight, and it's all belly. I either get comments that I'm small for 6 1/2 months or that I'm about to pop. Just goes to show - every woman's body, and every pregnancy for that matter, is different.
Since about 24-25 weeks, I've been able to see my belly undulate with this one - I couldn't do that with either of the first two until nearly 34 weeks, and really not until after 36 was it common. The doc said yesterday it's likely just because my muscles never re-joined all the way in the middle and are just spread on the sides already this time around.

I have the same problem. It works out because nobody knows I'm pregnant (I won't talk to strangers about my pregnancy, I just give them a blank look and walk off if they comment lol). My OB from when I was pregnant with Nathaniel was convinced he would only be 5-6 pounds because of how small my stomach was and was pretty surprised when he was nearly 9 pounds coming out. Not to mention when I went in for my 40 month appointment, where they do a stress test, my OB said I had come in too early

Ditto on both counts! I get the "you must be due any day now" comments all the time. I'm not that big people!!
But I agree, I think people *think* they know what a pregnant woman should look like, but we're all different and no one is ever 100% dead on. But yeah, I could do without those comments for sure!

Okay...here it gets REALLY funny.
People in public don't comment. But I have tons of friends and family who know I am pregnant from Facebook, my telling them, whatever. I am measuring a SOLID 5 weeks ahead and the baby is big (90th percentile). I have gained about 25lbs, no small amount.
And I get told constantly I am so tiny for 8 months. Just this morning my good friend was like "wow, you can still hide that pregnancy, can't you?" And I just said "Yep, sure can."
There are a couple things that I know make a difference. One is height. I literally have a small football field between my boobs and my pubic bone. So I am sure the baby can still stretch out quite nicely. All the shorter ladies I know carry more "out" because the baby has to go somewhere and the room up is limited. Another is whether you carry "all over" or "all out front." I am an all-over carrier. I easily put on a couple pounds of boob and a pound of love handles. Lol. So it sorta distorts the look a bit. I mean...imagine if in my siggy pics my boobs were half that size...it would make the belly look soooo much bigger.
So there is my expert analysis. And my rationale for why people still can't tell I am pregnant. It is a little depressing to be 200lbs and realize people just think I am fat and not carrying 25lb of baby!!

I am glad that people don't make those comments to me. Pregnancy is hard already when having to worry about things like how big or small you look or how much you weigh.

I have gone from one extreme to the other...when I was 11wks, I looked HUGE, but I have not gotten much bigger since then, so 18wks later I am getting told how little I am...even from the Dr. And I looked through some previous preggy pics and I am smaller this time...it is still weird though!
You are perfect for you girl, don't let them stress you!

One of my coworkers just gave birth this week and she looked the same size as me. Turns out her baby was 9 lbs. 7 oz.--after 48 hours of labor they did a c-sec. So, who knows, you could have a ginormous baby in there!

People have said that I am small, it seems to depend on how hes laying though. Sometimes my belly sticks way out there and sometimes it seems like it shrunk, plus my ob says im measuring behind by a week, and have been since about 23 weeks or so but shes thinks its just fine. Im not too worried about measuring small as I measured 6 weeks behind with my last baby by 32 weeks, he was small at birth but healthy...but they were all small besides my first.

I have been told throughout this whole pregnancy how I dont LOOK pregnant. (I assume it means I look fat because I def have something lol!!) I also have Height on my side. I have gained a GOOD amount of weight to. I didnt really start to show until 20 weeks though, and I didnt POP like noticable untill like lst week. (in my opinion)
I think every belly is different and yes I looked HUGE this time with Kaiden and Briar but this one has a different position and I hear when you have the anterior placenta you dont look as big because baby lays in the back so maybe thats something..

I get that all the time too! It doesn't freak me out because this is the 3rd time I've been pregnant and I always carry small and have small babies. However, it DOES get old. Not that I'm not happy to be excluded from the "You must be about to pop" comments, but after getting so many "Ohh, you don't look that far along at all!"...I am running out of things to say back. Now I just smile and nod. Lol.
I'm sure things are fine. If your baby was growth-restricted or whatever you would be further off than a centimeter! And women carry babies all kinds of ways. (Watch that "I didn't know I was pregnant" show and you will be shocked at the small women who didn't realize they had a baby in there....wow)
