may i ask why they said possible twins? like why they werent able to determine just one or two? i fear twins and im wanting to know asap if i have one or two lol

Since I had this so early, and the machine was not great...they could not tell what the thing on the right was. Up in the picture, the baby with a great heartbeat is on the left, no doubt as to what was happening there. BUT, I have a really weird laying uterus and they picked up a flicker on the "blob" at right, but could not determine whether it was a viable heartbeat or not. The twins would absolutely be identical, since there would have been two easily-seem sacs if they were fraternal. But based on the angle and the machine, they could not get a clear bead on the "baby" on the right. I got next week for another, better, sonogram so we should know if that is a developing baby or a waning one (it is possible the twin is already not making it).

It is actually not that uncommon to miss an identical twin entirely at an early sonogram. They are so good at hiding in the "folds" of the uterus or behind their sibling, that they can easily miss an identical twin. This sono we definately saw something and it had a flicker, but they could not truly state whether that was a twin or not.

Yep, next Monday (the 21st) we have a sono at maternal and fetal medicine for a sonogram. Should be 5000 times better quality. So I am sure that if it is a viable twin, we will be able to see it then. I am on pins and needles
