I had terrible leg cramps when pg with DD, so far nothing yet
Lot's of water will help, especially if you are already having warm/hot weather and I used to mainly wake up with them and if you can stretch your leg straight out and point your toes in the air as if you were walking on the heel, it helps to strech the muscles out so they don't cramp as much. I would also try to walk as much as possible on my heels going up and down the stairs (as long as you have a rail to hold and there is nobody around to laugh at you )
I drink a lot of fluids. Gatoraide mainly...Fierce Grape is my soft spot! I just go up the stairs really slow now a days because I am a clutz and if I tried to go up on my heels i would probably have a catastrophe...*falling down the stairs landing in a heap at the bottom probably peeing myself*
I have gotten 1 while laying in bed, it was in the early a.m. and woke me up. Other than that its just the stairs that complicates things.
I haven't had them this time(knock on wood) but with both my previous pregnancies I would get them so bad in the middle of the night that they would wake me up out of a deep sleep and I would have to hop around in the dark till they subsided. My doctor at the time told me to stay hydrated and eat lots of bananas because the potassium supposedly helps.
