For those of you who are making or have made baby food in the past, what liquid are using? Water, BM, formula? I was thinking BM or formula would make it more nutritious but an extra 8 oz of BM would be difficult to have available when making food.

I just used pre-boiled water. I'm going to be feeding her her normal bottle first, then the puree after as a bonus, not a replacement, so I just went ahead and used water. I figure she'll still get all the benefits of the formula first, so it's not like she's losing anything with the puree. I think if I was going to be cutting down on her bottle I'd mix some formula in with the puree.

I made carrots the other day by boiling them in water, so I just used the leftover water from boiling the carrots since a lot of vitamins and such go into the water from the food.
I will probably continue using water for things I won't be boiling, such as sweet potatoes. I'd just bake the sweet potato and take out the innards, put in the baby bullet with just a bit of water to thin it out.

I haven't started yet so I hadn't thought about it but if I'm able to pump, I'll probably use breastmilk...otherwise water because I'm not going to be buying formula.

Thanks ladies. I would like to use BM when possible. I was thinking more about this last night and I think I can do this if I make smaller batches. At first I wanted to make several servings but if I make 2-3 I can use BM. usinf boiled water is also a good idea

I use the water it was either boiled or steamed in. Only because I eat it with her...I wont feed her anything I wont eat...hence why I am making her own food. I have tasted her Formula and OH MY GOD. GROSSNESS to the millionth degree. lol.

I also season her food a bit to. Not salt and no spicy stuff tho. She hearts mashed baked potato with pepper
