Anyone else doing sign language with their little one? Have they picked up on any of the signs yet?
Bella's been signing "more" for about the past month or so. She doesn't sign milk but when I do the sign to her I can tell whether that's what she wants or not by the way she reacts lol so if she stops crying and smiles and laughs that means she wants the milk and if she just keeps crying that means it's something else she's crying about haha.
And now she's trying to do the please sign. I'm not as consistent with "eat" but I'm trying to remember to do that before feeding her and we just started signing "thank you" to her so that'll be a while before she starts picking up on that i'm sure.
But if anyone is thinking about and hasn't started yet I would highly encourage you to! It really is so amazing when your child can't verbally tell you what they want but they can sign it to you, makes life sooo much easier!
We did it with my first child and he did awesome. Alot of people say it makes them be late talkers because they're signing and not talking but I don't believe it. My son was signing, saying the word in English and in Spanish. I never taught the other 3 kids though.
We try to use the signs for milk, dog, all done, eat, drink (for water), and book. She hasn't done any signs on her own (maybe dog... it's hard to tell because she spends about half of her day flapping her arms and yelling dog, lol). But she definitely understands when we sign milk or drink to her, and I think she is picking up all done and eat.
