I am a former cloth diapering mom. Once my girls went into daycare, cloth diapering just went on the wayside. My three year old has been potty training for over a year now, and she is still basically using her pull ups as a diaper, and I am about ready to just start diapering her again, but then I thought about cloth trainers. We have the ditto daddies for night time, and she loves those.... are there any easy to make trainers that are good for daytime use that wont cause her to change clothes every time she has an accident? Pull ups are just too expensive and she gets really red in the bum and girly area when she wears them. Thanks in advance!
I just made my first trainer tonight. Its too big for nattie though - lol - so I have to adjust my pattern (I had made my own cloth diaper pattern and then just revamped that a little to make it into a trainer). I made it an AOI. I used minky and the inside and for the soaker 2 layers of minky - I wanted something absorbent but not so absorbent that she wont feel wet she she pees kwim?? then I used a layer of PUL to make it waterproof and cotton on the outside - the sides are make of stretchy cotton - then I added snaps so that while it pulls up and down if she did have a nasty poop in it it could still be changed like a diaper as to not get poop everywhere. Also there is elastic in both the front and the back.
