Friday night we ended up having to go to L&D because I started bleeding thanks to placenta previa. So now the doctor has put me on full bed rest until my next ultrasound (the 28th). Are any of you ladies on bed rest too? How are you coping?

**Update** Well we had our ultrasound on the 28th and received good news and bad news. The good news is that my placenta has moved enough that we'll be able to try for a vaginal delivery! But it is still low-lying and I could possibly have more bleeding, so they want me to basically stay on bedrest. I can move around a little bit more but they want me to be careful and not do very much. The bad news is that they found a loop of umbilical cord above the baby's head (between his head and my cervix), which apparently is not a common thing. They are concerned that the baby could put pressure on the cord, preventing the proper blood flow from getting to him. So they sent us over to get a non-stress test right away, to check for dips in his heartrate. Thankfully everything looked good on the test, but now the doctor wants to see us every week for an ultrasound and we'll also be getting a non-stress test every week until the cord moves out of the way. Fun fun!

Then on Thursday I had my 3 hr glucose test, which I'm hoping comes back fine, as well as our prenatal appointment. My OB is now somewhat concerned about preeclampsia due to an odd weight gain this week (5 lbs in 1 week and I've actually been eating less than normal), and she also said my blood pressure has been slowing going up at each visit. So I have to do a 24 urine test and some blood work. Then we'll be back for our next appointment on Wednesday to discuss the results. This third trimester is going more downhill every day!!

I was on bed rest for a few days last week and I have had periods of bed rest with all of my pregnancies. It sucks. A laptop and/or smartphone and/or ipad is a NECESSITY to maintain sanity. Good luck. I hope you get it lifted next week.

I'm not on bedrest (yet), but probably will be before its over. With my first, I was on bedrest for 3 weeks, with my second 9 weeks and 10 weeks with my third!! All of those were due to preterm labor. The first two weeks aren't too bad (almost relaxing). Hopefully, you can get off of bedrest after your ultrasound! Reading was the best for me because tv that long will make you crazy!

I'm on bedrest. Although it's modified to just "do as little as possible" since I have a toddler and DH can't just leave work for 3 months. I second what everyone else says - get comfy with some munchies, the computer/tv/smartphone/ipad/kindle and try to relax. Meditation has been helping me get thru it cuz it's stressful not to be able to get up. I hope your restrictions get lifted soon!
