Is anyone else more hungry then usual? I eat breakfast, then I would say like an hour and a half I need a snack. I'll eat a small lunch or maybe just a little snack again, then dinner I make everynight then it NEVER fails, like 2 hours after I eat i'm hungry again. I feel like I am way more hungry now then I have ever been. I have gained 14 pounds this whole pregnancy so far. Am I eating too much? Anyone else really hungry? Is 14 pounds alot to gain? I gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks...is that bad?

I'm not proud of my weight gain, but it's my own fault. I don't exactly exercise regularly and it was Winter when I gained all my weight. Now that its Spring, I'm hoping my weight gain will slow rapidly!! EXERCISE FOR MEEEEEEE

I didnt gain ANY weight this whole pregnancy until last month, so in 2 months I have gained 14 pounds thats why im like But I mean I knew I was going to gain eventually and now our babies are getting really big so it makes sense but still!! I dont exercise as much as I would like too but I don't have the energy. DH and I made a pack, after the baby is here and I am all healed or whatever and not bleeding my mom is going to watch Drake for 1 hour a day while me and him go to the gym. I can't wait for that!

I think you are hungry cos you need to eat hun. Our babies are pretty much finished developing now and are just maturing and packing on that baby chub. the weight gain is going to be pretty rapid regardless of eating, but if you give into the hunger and eat well, you are giving your body what it needs to give to the baby.
I say listen to your body. If its saying you are hungry for ice cream and choc, you prob arent hungry, but if its saying go get a sandwich or a bowl of soup, listen.
My doctors have stopped weighing me, because they dont really care how much i gain pass this point. I just had a doctors appointment this morning and when i went to go for the scales she said not to bother that its not accurate at this stage because the baby will be growing so much and the babys support system is also increasing in weight. She just said to listen to my body and go with it.
try not to worry mama! you are doing so well!!!

Great advice. I am not snacking on like crap, I will snack on grapes, things like that. I have been wanting pancakes and french toast alot so maybe I need carbs? I wish my Dr would not weight me because when I SEE the gain is when I feel like but I know its for a beautiful thing. My Dr said (if I remember correctly) I will put on about 10 pounds depending each last 2 months. Sounds about right?

It def sounds like you need it so hun. and yeah its very possible its carbs that your body needs! my pregnancy book has a section on carbs and to not be afraid of them in pregnancy cos thats what the baby will take first. obv keep it balanced, but dont be avoiding carbs iykwim.
24lbs total is the text book gain for someone with a healthy bmi i think. not 100% sure on the exact number, but that sounds very close! just dont be upset if you gain more. Dont forget that your body will store some fat so it can use that energy to turn into milk when the baby is here. and your breasts will prob grow too, so all that counts towards gain.

My boobs are naturally 38D but I am BUSTING out of a 38DD!
At my first WiC appointment the lady said to me that ideally 25 pounds is "textbook" so you are totally right. And I mean, nothing is exact, I dont eat like crazy, I dont binge eat, I eat when I feel hungry. So any weigt gain is needed I guess.
Dont forget that your body will store some fat so it can use that energy to turn into milk when the baby is here
And I am BF so I guess my boobies need it!

My appetite has been going away lately. Which is fine by me as I have gained 24 lbs so far!! I am going to ask the doc to stop weighing me. It is too stressful and I think about it the entire appointment so I am just going to stop.
I find I am usually the hungriest after dinner. I always have a late night snack which is probably the reason why I have packed on the lbs. Oh well.

Jacklyn I'm right there with you. I've only gained 10lbs so far which is MUCH less than I had gained at this point in my last pregnancy. My doc measured the baby last Friday and said he was definitely growing well so I guess I shouldn't be worried. My appetite is HALF of what it was last time too. I was thinking maybe it's because he has me taking supplements? Maybe my body doesn't need the excess meals? I have no clue. I'm just talking out of my butt. LOL. I also am extremely active so I think that helps keep the weight off. My belly & boobs have gotten huge (from an A/B to a D) but everything else is the same size.
Jess I agree with Robyn.. as long as you are eating healthy foods then it shouldn't matter. I would explode if I ate 6 times a day but maybe your body just needs it more. It could also be boredom eating. If that's the case then instead of snacks in between meals you should grab a bottle of water & go for a walk outside. You don't have to walk fast paced.. just take it easy.. but if when you get home you are still hungry then there's your answer

I gained 25 lbs my first pregnancy, and depending on who you ask I've gained about 10-14 this time (My doctor and I differ as to where I started). I eat when i'm hungry. Some multi grain cheerios at 6, a snack around 9.. usually a granola bar or fruit with nutella, but sometimes baby wants meat so I keep some vienna sausages and eat 3 links and save the rest for the next day. Lunch and then I can usually squeak in to dinner.... but sometimes I need something in between. I try not to eat too close to bedtime, to avoid heart burn and I just don't like sleeping with a full stomach.. but I do let myself have another snack if there is time and I'm hungry

Girl, if 14lbs is a lot then I'm HUGE!!! I'm up 26lbs right now and have given up worrying about it! I gained 46lbs with DD and lost more than that within 5 months so I KNOW I can do it again!
And I always, pregnant or not, eat the way you do. That's actually the most healthy way to eat! Several, small meals throughout the day. Of course, that depends on what it is you are eating, but that is how everyone should eat!
But I have noticed lately too that I'm more hungry and Lord knows, I don't need to gain any more weight.
Robyn, I sooo wish my doc would stop weighing me! It makes me crazy!

LOL I wish i'd stop getting weighed too! I was doing good until i accidentally left my exercise tape in NY when we went up for that week last month. I still don't have it and my darn internet is giving me problems when i try to load most videos online but i'm trying to stay active on my own which is proving to be difficult with nowhere to go in this hotel. BUT for some reason my appetite has decreased lately, and DH keeps yelling at me to eat but i just can't if i'm not hungry.
