Should I have more than a few pairs of dress shoes for Baby L? I feel like most newborns usually just wear socks for the first few months except for special occasions?

We had no shoes for Stella as a newborn aside from a pair that we attempted to have her wear in her first Christmas pictures.

Yep, newborns don't really need shoes. And even for special occasions, something soft would be preferred. Also, they sell super cute dressy socks for baby/little girls, white with like a raffle thing at the top and sometimes flowers, those go with everything & they are adorable and comfy!

Um, I don't have any. I usually just do socks and if it's a girl wearing a dress, tights.

I agree. They say you shouldn't put hard sole shoes on them until they begin walking. We had a couple pair of soft bottom sandals just for looks & a TON of the socks that looked like shoes. LOL

& they have girl ones of course

I think the cute socks are plenty, and maybe just one pair of dress shoes if you really, really want them. Babies grow really fast, and the socks are so so so so cute.

I honestly didn't put my kids in shoes other than for a special occasion until they became mobile

those are beyond cute
I did get a pair of patten leather black mary janes from once upon a child for $1.50 strictly for a few Christmas pictures, but other then that, she won't have shoes on much in the beginning

And ditto to the no shoes thing, most babies won't like anything heavy on their feet anyway.
