The past 2 days i have seen obvious changes in Caylyn.....last night she woke up 4 times... she hasn't done this since she was 3-4 weeks old. I'm exhausted today. These are her changes recently.....

She is a drool machine!!!
She is starting to eat her hands more
She has been super fussy and crying alot for what seems to be no reason.
She coughs randomlyl
Her sleep is so disrupted the past 2 nights.
She sometimes refuses to eat (she ate for DH last night but it took him awhile to get her to eat and even when she was eating she would pull away from the bottle multiple times)

Any ideas what this could be? We just started to notice these sign/symptoms in the past 2 days.... I hope you ladies can help me figure it out because I'm a first time mom and this is so different for my baby...

Help

I think it's probably a phase (the extra wakings & weird eating). Sebastian is a couple weeks older than her & we went through something similar a couple weeks ago; he started waking up at 1-2am instead of his usual 5-6am, but now he's back to normal. His feedings were also all over for a few days.

As for the drooling/sucking hands, that's very normal. We just had a thread about this & many mommies here said their babies are doing that too! I sometimes notice Sebastian chokes on the extra saliva/drool and it causes him to cough.

I hope that's all it is! One thing I've learned from my older kids is that babies/toddlers go through many, many, many short annoying phases and it's a matter of waiting them out.

I really have no other advice. I think Julia got it right. The only other possibility is she may be cutting a tooth although it seems pretty early. I hope she regulates her sleep soon!

I agree with the other ladies and it's just a phase. We are going through a few of the same things drool machine, eating his hands, coughing, and he hasn't been eating as well. He's also been naping a lot more than normal.

Girls, thank you so much for posting this, harry is doing the exact same things. I know there is a growth spurt at 3 months, but harry has been so out of sorts for the past 3 days! he doesnt seem himself at all, so i'm glad to hear its normal at this stage!

Lets hope these babies get back to normal fast!

Katelyn is a little older because she came early but I think she may be teething. She has 2 white spots on her lower gum. She is acting similar and I think its from teething. So check her gums.
