I didn't think it was possible and I am sure I am the only one with this problem lol but ever since Gavin was born I have had horrible insomnia!! Between 9 pm and 9 am he wakes up once for a feed sometimes twice if he didnt get enough formula in the day before. I just cant sleep and its driving me nuts!!! It is 3:30 am right now and I am wide awake! Its hard for me to completely shut my brain off at night. The mornings can be kind of hard because I have to get up and get my oldest off to pre-k but after I am up and functioning I feel fine.

Am I the only one? Any sleep tips for mom?

I'm often up until early hours of the morning too. I'm a true night owl!

Maybe read a book to make you tire out a bit more at night? I'm not sure sorry!

I have no advice other then trying to wear yourself out during the day to sleep better at night. I'm sure with 2 kids though you are pretty worn out anyways.

I am having trouble sleeping too sometimes... like she'll finally get to bed and I'll be truly hands free for a bit and that's when I tend to get sucked into facebook and then end up staying up too late :O

I used to have a lot of trouble sleeping at the start, He slept pretty well at night from day one and i would be awake looking at him. I got back to normal after a while, but last night I was just laying there awake all night. My body felt exhausted, I just couldnt drift off.

Hope you get this sorted hun, its so hard being a mom when you havent slept!

You are not alone Bay. I am the same way, like Maria said "I am a true night owl" and I know I always will be. Once Drake is asleep for the night, which is anywhere from 8 - 9:30 pm (with one nightly feeding) you would think I would be tired and go to sleep but no. Thats me time, and when me time is over he usually wakes up. I have no advice as well since I am the same way. Hopefully one day we will all get some much needed sleep.

I go through bouts of insomnia as well - it's horrible. What helps me is keeping my body on a schedule as a much as possible and getting fresh air and exercise (even just a short walk) as well as eating healthy. Reading a book before bed really helps me wind down as well. Maybe try a warm glass of milk too? Lavender sachets in your pillow can help you drift off.

I am NOT a night owl at all, but it is 4:27 am and I've been up since 2:30 when I pumped. Cannot get back to sleep tonight... This is bad, because I get up in less than 2 hours to head to school and I have my busy day tomorrow!

I hope you are able to get some sleep! I have not had any trouble sleeping, but I have been getting less than normal. I have to have some alone time after both of the kids are in bed and that usually leaves me staying up until 2am or so. I am still getting a good amount of sleep though.

Ditto the other ladies. I've been staying up later catching up on me-time. I find myself going to sleep most nights around 1am.

8 hours of sleep? What's that?!
