How does your baby go down for a nap, considering you're just hanging out at home. I mean, do they go down quietly, do you feed/nurse them to sleep, do you put them awake and they fall asleep by themselves? Do you use any music? Just wondering.

It depends - it's very obvious when he's tired because he cries with his eyes closed. I'll feed him, and sometimes he falls asleep right away. If not, I put him in his swing (which he's almost outgrown!) and he falls asleep on his own. Sometimes I'll just lie him in his P-N-P awake, and he'll suck on his hands to get himself to sleep. Usually naps don't come with much fussing, luckily.

Right now Nathan still naps in the swing. I swaddle him one arm out and gently rock him until he is sleepy (or at least calm) then put him in the swing. He's still going for a nap after an hour of being awake and sleeps for an hour (except afternoon is usually a long nap).
I'm on the hunt for a glider for his room (on kijiji - don't want to pay too much lol) and I think we'll start trying naps in his crib. At night I can just lie him in his crib and he falls asleep, I'm hoping that with a glider I can get him sleepy (but still awake) and lie him in the crib. He does like staring at his fisher price aquarium and will occasionally fall asleep staring at it for a nap, but not often enough

I usually just swaddle Levi and put him in his crib. He goes to sleep quietly for almost all of his daytime naps. Going to sleep for the evening? He is fussy and doesn't go quietly. He will cry in my arms, his bed, his swing.. So sometimes I let him cry a bit.

When she gets fussy and she's been up almost two hours or more I turn on her music, put her in her crib, and give her her pacifier (the only time she uses one)... and I walk away. She's never crying... she puts herself to sleep. If shes not asleep within 10 minutes (sometimes she plays) I take her from the crib and put her on her playmat... where she plays until she passes out! LOL

When Ravyn gets tired she either puts her head on my shoulder and goes to sleep or she will fuss a little and I will give her a bottle and she will go to sleep. She has become very easy to go to sleep now. For a while she went through a phase where she would fight her sleep like crazy and just cry and cry. When she is asleep I put her in her pnp during the day or if I'm tired too I lie down with her. At night I do the same, either hold her on my shoulder and pat her butt or give her a bottle. She sleeps in her own bed at night.

Eli starts to fuss a little when he gets tired so I lay him down in the PNP and turn on his lamb and seahorse and he goes right to sleep.

If he is in his swing, he just goes right to sleep. If he is fussy, I put him in his rocker chair thing and rock it a bit. Always with a paci.

What are naps?
Seriously, Rowan hates napping in the daytime. He isn't typically fussy during the day after being awake so long.
Sometimes he shows signs of sleepiness and I can rock/nurse him to sleep during those times, but it only lasts about 30 minutes. He sleeps well at night, but he's really only getting about 13 hours of sleep a day. I worry about this a lot and have really been working to get him to nap better.

Leila is like this some days... I'm like.... I can barely go without a nap today, so how are you doing it?!?!!
Usually though, we have to rock her to sleep or lay down with her. If she's hungry and sleepy, I nurse her to sleep.

Sebastian naps great but he naps 100% of the time in the swing.
We stopped swaddling some 2 weeks ago, so now even in the swing, it takes him longer to fall asleep. He cries a bit longer but not more than 5 minutes of crying and usually the last 2 minutes is "singing himself to sleep".
But he takes 2 short morning naps and 1 longer afternoon nap. Depends when he awakes from the afternoon nap, if it's before 4pm, he takes another short evening nap. If after 4:30, he usually just stays awake till bedtime.

I mostly nurse her to sleep. I did this with my older daughter as well. Easy. I don't go by the clock with feedings, so sometimes I will have just fed her very recently, but I will still nurse her. Lately she has been taking a lot of naps at the breast, but she will sleep in her crib if I move her there after she is down.
If we are in the car, she falls asleep pretty easy. If we are out or if I am busy with other things, I just put her in the moby wrap and she falls asleep there too.

Here recently she has been more fussy, so I typically have to bounce/rock her to sleep because she tries to fight it. She typically naps in her crib or pnp. If she falls asleep on her own we just leave her wherever, but nightime she sleeps in crib or pnp if she is sick, etc.
