So Cody has officially outgrown his swing, which is a huge bummer. He LOVES to sleep in it. Not only is he too big for it now, but tries to sit up in it which is totally not safe. So, naps are few and far between anymore I'll lie him down in his crib awake (he never falls asleep on me) and he'll suck his thumb or chew on his teether to calm himself down, and will then fall asleep. But it only lasts maybe 1/2 hour. When he'd fall asleep in his swing, he'd be out 2-3 hours and be MUCH less cranky. At night, he still sleeps roughly 8 hours without waking up at all. But even at daycare he isn't napping like he used to because they won't put him in their swing anymore either. It's hard to keep him entertained and stimulated for hours on end! He's still a really good baby - just not as rested as before I guess. Anyone else really missing the swing?

Madison still fits in her swing but I will be in the same spot you are in. Although my day care doesn't have a swing, her last one did though. She's only 13 pounds so I think she's got a few more weeks/months left to be in it.

YUP! gary tries to sit up in his swing and he is just too long for it now as well and he was def a swing napper! Its tough, but he will fall asleep on me, but he wants to stay asleep on me if I move him he is awake. Which is strange, because bedtime he knows to stay asleep lol but anyway yes, def missing the swing!

We'll be there soon too. I do have a rainforest swing and a papasan swing. The rainforest one you can actually sit the chair up more, so they should be good for a little while longer in that one, but the papasan is starting to get too short. They sleep in their swings and I'm going to try to not use it quite so much. I don't want it to be like cold turkey for them to give it up.

Gio still fits in the swing but its like he's weaning himself off it! He doesn't really seem to care for it anymore and apparently prefers to sleep in his crib or p-n-p for naps now. I'm not complaining, its just i didn't expect it.

I hope your little guy is able to adjust and get some more sleep during the day though for ya!

Whitney still fits in her swing, but the motor burned out. So while waiting for the replacement motor to come she hasnt had a swing in a few weeks. So i thought omg its going to be hard to get her to nap or even to sleep at night since we used to start her in the swing where she would sleep several hours. then when she woke up to eat i brought her into bed with me for the rest of the night. now she just comes to bed with me and she loves and she sleep longer through the night. it will probably just take some adjustment and then he will be fine again.

We have the same problem!! Except he hasn't outgrown the swing yet, but we are trying to get him to take his naps in his p-n-p (where he sleeps at night), since I know the swing won't last forever. I'm hoping if we keep doing it then he'll eventually nap longer out of the swing. But it's going to be a struggle!

Ravyn sits up in her swing and is technically too big for it too. I still put her in it once in a while if I'm going to be right there with her. She was never big on the swing to begin with so when it's completely gone I don't think she will miss it. I agree with the other pp who said it is just until he transitions. I hope that's very soon for you though. I know how difficult it is to try to keep a baby happy for hours on end when they aren't well rested.

I was going to say too that probably once he gets more used to it, he'll sleep longer again. Nathan doesn't really fit his swing well but I still put him in it every once in awhile. I'm trying to switch him to napping in the crib but it's slow going lol

Luckily, Emma's swing never really held her in a comfortable position, so we rarely used it. I've always put her in her crib to sleep so that we wouldn't have to make any major transitions. I hope he adjusts quickly, just remember, this too shall pass!
