You should get checked for Carpal Tunnel. I have it because of my job (who would have thought steaming milk for lattes would give you that?! lol) but I noticed it more when I became pregnant. The pain is like a pins and needles feeling and a strained muscle ache all rolled into one that shoots up my arm from my ring finger (mine's on my right hand though).

Anything that keeps you up at night pain wise should definitely warrant a doctor's visit.

I believe Jesridge was dealing with carpal tunnel when her little guy was maybe just one or two months old... I wish I could do the @ tag like facebook.. she's been MIA so maybe private message her and see if she has any advice?

I have the same problem but it's just on the left side, the side i hold Gio on my hip. I think the way i bend my wrist to hold under his arm is causing the problem. He likes to lean for stuff so i have to keep a hold on him.

Oh man well i totally feel your pain. I've tried holding him differently, basically positioning my hand in a different spot and that seems to help. I'm not sure what exactly is happening with my wrist but i don't wanna have long term effects from it...it's easy to revert to my normal holding position with him because it's such a habit. Sorta funny how fast a habit can form huh? I do hope you can find a way to ease the pain!!!

When Jasper was 5 weeks old I had major wrist pain and found out my bloodwork came back saying I had rheumatoid arthritis. In the past 6 months it has spread to my ankles and fingers too. They are hoping it is just something called post partum arthritis which is pretty common I guess. I hope it is something simple for you that you can correct. I recommend you go to the doctor though just to be on the safe side. Maybe they can give you an anti inflammatory that will help.
