I haven't been a member of the forums for long, but I wanted to tell you we have received some devastating news. I attended my routine 16 week appointment yesterday morning. It was going well until my doctor used the Doppler to check the heartbeat. She couldn't find it straight away but didn't seem concerned. About 10 minutes of trying later and I burst into tears. I knew something dreadful was wrong. I'm in Scotland at the moment and over here they don't do ultrasounds at the doctors office, so I was sent off to the maternity hospital and had an ultrasound there. I had to wait 3 hours to be seen. It was horrendous. Eventually I was seen. My worst fears were confirmed - my much loved and very much wanted baby has passed away.
As I was too far along for a D&C, I was told I would have to give birth to my baby. I was given the option of going in straight away to be induced or going home and coming back again today. I chose to get it over and done with.
The induction was started at approximately 3:30pm and my perfect little boy was born at 1:35am on July 27th 2011.
They wanted to keep me in hospital for at least 24 hours, but they put me on the post-delivery ward with all the new babies. I was desperate to leave the hospital and eventually, against the advice of the doctors, discharged myself at 3pm.
My heart is aching for my little boy. We named him Zachary Spencer.

When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." John 8:7 Sail Back to Me
Oh wow. My heart is breaking for you. I am sooo sorry. May little Zachary rest in peace. I am so sorry for your loss, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
