I have my 30 week appt today at 2:15 and I'm actually glad. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and had to pick DSD up from school for a 102 temperature. I've never seen her go to bed and stay there an entire day before, so I knew it was bad. I was feeling worse and worse all day and by dinner time I was slumped on the couch and my eyes were closing. (DH was sweet, asking me if I wanted to postpone movie night so I wouldn't have to deal with FIL. I said no, and fortunately FIL wasn't too loud and irritating..for once.)
Feel much worse this morning but I can't figure out if I'm actually sick or not. Throat hurts, I'm completely exhausted (but haven't been sleeping) and my head is pounding (but I've had migraines nonstop anyway). So hopefully I can get the doc to just double check and see. I'm scared of getting strep throat or something...nooo thank you. I may just have a wee cold that seems worse because of simply being pregnant. Who knows.
Anyone else getting whooped by the cold weather, or dealing with sick children?
That sucks hon, I hope you and yours feel better soon. I feel a cold coming on and I'm doing everything I can to avoid it. *crosses fingers* Pleeeaaaaaase God don't let me get sick right now, I don't have the time!
Ugh, I hope you arent sick. I hate being sick! For the last two nights I have been having cold like symptoms, but they are just at night so I thought for sure it was allergies. Now, I woke up today with a tickle in my throat and coughing. So after I eat breakfast ill take emergen-c and then Ill take it again tonight, hopefully tomorrow ill be fine.
Me, me, I'm suffering from being near the sick children! They haven't learned to cover their mouths and get their fingers out of their noses in public yet, so they are major germballs. I almost never get sick, but this baby is making it so much harder on my body, I guess! I've had green mucus for 2 weeks (in one more week, I'll get myself checked for a sinus infection, I guess) and a cough for 1 week. It stinks!!!
Is this your OB appt? I would probably skip that and if you want go to the regular doc. Your OB won't be able to do much for you if you do end up getting strep or something. I think I would wait it out a day and see if I feel better/the same or if I get worse. If I got worse I'd go to the regular doc.
Appt over. Saw the PA instead of a doc which always frustrates me. I told them I didn't feel well and I was kind of on the verge of passing out just sitting there. She nodded and told me she'd see me in two weeks. I guess they're in the business of only making sure baby is ok.
Baby is measuring 31 weeks and heartbeat is in the 140s. All is well with her.
My regular physician skipped town, which is fine because she was awful anyway. Kinda at a loss and wanna just throw down and cry. I'll live, I suppose.
I have not been sick yet this year...woot! Now that we will be spending TONS of time inside, because it really IS cold here (colder weather in FL? Haha, that is funny to me )I am sure I will catch something from the kids.
Time to start upping my vitamin D for protection!

I was about to post a similar thread. LOL When I woke up this morning, I was fine, but now the right side of my throat hurts. It's not scratchy or anything, it's slightly swollen and it hurts to swallow, so either I'm getting a cold (hopefully) or something else. Strep has been a big issue at work so I'm a lil worried. Gonna have it checked out by the doc to be safe.

If you don't have a regular doc you could go to an urgent care center. That is what we do because they are open late.
It's better to catch whatever it is early and get treatment for it. I hope you start to feel better!

Eeek..definitely get it checked out! I would hate for anyone to get strep. I got it when I was 17 and it was the most AWFUL thing ever!! Since my throat only hurts on one side, that was why I started to get nervous.. but it isn't terrible yet. I'm having more of a fever issue now. Let us know what the doc says, mama!

I was just telling DH that exact thing at dinner. If I don't feel better in the morning, I'll probably go to the immediate care center. I've been there once before for an ear infection and their physician was really considerate. My ears are starting to feel clogged so I know I at least need to get that checked out for sure, even if my throat is better. Thanks lady!
ME!! I am all snuffly, which I have been for awhile now with allergies. It is much worse though now. Also, both kiddos are sick with colds and fevers AND on top of all of this, come to find out my nephew, who we spent all day with, has strep throat that has not been medicated at all. Basically, I would fully expect the strep to run its course through my family. Totally stinks!!!
