That is why they do not suggest cereal though as well as the risk of aspirating. I am glad she seems better but I really would get to someone else to get information. The cereal is very hard on the stomach and can make the gas symptoms and reflux even worse because it irritates the gut and stops the baby up. I believe there is formula made thicker if she needs weight to it that would mean you were not using cereal as well. That is another option.

DD didn't spit up either. She would swallow hard over and over again and sometimes it sounded like she was gasping for air. She constantly was swallowing anything that came up, and sometimes choking on it.
The other thing I forgot to add to this is that the other reason to not add cereal to the baby's feeding is because introducing solids too early can lead to allergies later on in life.
Here is a copy of the study for reference. Results from the study state:

Available information suggests that early introduction can increase the risk of food allergy, that avoidance of solids can prevent the development of specific food allergies, that some foods are more allergenic than others, and that some food allergies are more persistent than others.

I would agree that perhaps seeking a second opinion would be worth it, even if it's a far drive. I would rather deal with reflux with an infant than allergies throughout a child's entire life.
