Heads up in case y'all didn't know this. Any facial products that contain accutane should not be used when pg. I could not believe how high the risk is with this stuff! It's highly likely to cause miscarriage and if you don't have a miscarriage then you may be facing a whole host of other issues. Information can be found here. Isotretinoin - PubMed Health

I don't use anything with accutane but had no idea it was such a problem, that's why I'm sharing this here.

accutane is an oral drug that has to prescribed by a dermatologist. Its not something you can buy over the counter.

Actually it is available in some over the counter products.

I think you are mistaking Retin-A with Accutane. Accutane is not a topical product. It is oral.

Retin-A, Retinol, etc. is in a LOT of creams though, so you are right in that people should carefully check their products for this ingredient.

I personally am using plain ol' Nutrogena face wash and Ponds moisturizing cream.

Maybe that's what was meant. That came from a dermatologist who said not to use facial products with it in it, but I am positive Accutane was the medicine named. That's scary though if the doctor made a mistake like that, because I wouldn't have known that Retinol, etc. were bad either.

Yeah, I thought Accutane was a medicine prescribed. I will look into that and see what I can find

Yeah, I really think that he screwed it up. I had asked specifically about a facial cleanser, to see if it was safe to use and he said, "As long as it does not contain accutane. There are some cleansers that do and it isn't safe.". I dunno, but hey, better safe than sorry, right? LOL

Retin-A is the topical version of Accutane. They both contain high doses of the active ingredient, vitamin A, which is what poses a risk for pregnant women. Retin-A and Accutane are both by prescription only, but there are many products out there that also contain retinol (in much less concentrated amounts than the prescription forms) .

it's also known as vitamin -A .. none of my skincare products I could continue using.. I'm having great luck with Belli products and toner of witch hazel and niacinamide
