What's one thing that you thought you needed but never use?
What is one thing you can't live without?
I guess one thing that we never use is her crib. We fully intended upon having her sleep in our room in the crib but she just wouldn't sleep in it for more than 20mins to an hour. We moved her into our bed and have been getting much better sleep ever since. Never thought we would co sleep but it's working out.
Thing we can't live without would have to be our Erog carrier. Love it! We also have a Moby-like wrap that we used when she was younger but since she's gotten bigger we've only been using the Ergo because I find it much more convenient.
I also REALLY thought I would need a Boppy. He slid through it every time I used it when he was newborn, and now we do fine bfing without it; it's not good for sitting up because it doesn't offer support in the right places. We had two and I only used one of them twice before I gave up.
What I cannot live without (which I thought would be useless, lol) is the Moby Wrap. It wasn't good for me when he was smaller, but now that I can wear him facing out, our grocery shopping is soooo pleasant! So is doing chores around the house on crabby days, taking walks around the lake....
I also don't use the Boppy anymore, although I used it a lot in the beginning, and I just broke out the Moby today for the first time. Couldn't live without the Bjorn or my Baby Trend jogging stroller.
What we got that we ended up not needing was a cradle. She liked sleeping reclined from the get go. In the beginning, that cradle was used to hold her car seat off the floor. The things we ended up using all the time were her swing, my rocking recliner(bought that just because of her), and a car seat insert. That insert is used all the time. Great for her bouncer or any chair to help with head support.
I use everything! LOL I got a couple small hand-me-down cradles that I never used. They were to low to the floor and I was afraid our cats would jump in with him while we were sleeping. =/ So we used the Rock n Play instead.
I cannot live without his play mat. His 'rings' (plastic rings that link together) his rattle, his swing (NOT looking forward to outgrowing that.), his bouncer, his rock n play, carseat, stroller... you get the idea. LOL
We never ever use the Boppy, so many people said it was a must have but I have no idea why now.
We also rarely use the crib, I never thought I would co sleep but we got home from the hospital and I just couldn't bring myself to put her down! But it will get more use in a few months.
As far as what we can't live without, hmm no clue!
I thought I'd be using all the cute little hats that matched the cute outfits but that never happened, he hates hats.
The playpen is in the dinning room and takes so much room. Philibert never sleeps in it (I thought I'd use it for day time naps) but we still have it up and it's became our drop-off/throw-everything-in/storage station.
What I use the most is the swing, the Snugli, the Jolly-jumper, the bouncing chair, the boppy, the activity mat and those little blankets with stuffed animals on them.
