I think DD might have reached that stage. We went to a relative's birthday party yesterday. There were a ton of new faces and several kids. At first she was fine sitting on the floor but eventually started crying and wouldn't tolerate being put down the rest of the time.
It depends on the person. If it's someone she's never ever seen before she gets nervous. If it's someone she hasn't seen in a while, she does pretty good.
We just had a baby shower for my sister on Sat. Robby took one look at all the faces in the room and burst into tears. He would let people sit near him, but if they touched him he cried. My baby sister lives in Colorado and had never met him. She had to sit by me and play with him for 2 hours before he would let her hold him!
Jack will probably be there soon. He definitely notices when DH and I are in the area. He looks pretty serious when others are holding him. And this past weekend he started to whimper when the person holding him started laughing too loud.
