Well, you all know that my doctor decided to induce me on Monday afternoon. I was admitted to the hospital at 4:30 and dialated 1 cm. They started me on Cervidil at 9:20 pm.

They removed the cervidil at 5:00 am and let me take a shower. They started the IV of pitocin at 6:15 and I was still only 1 cm. My doctor came in at broke my water at 8:20 and they started the epidural at 9:15. I was 5-6 cm dialated at 11:50 so they stopped the pitocin and let me progress on my own. By 12:10 I was at 7-8 cm.

They had me start pushing at 2:00. Within 15 minutes her head was about a fingertip away from my pubic bone. But she was face up so I was having back labor. Over 2 hours of pushing later, she was still in the same position and no lower. My doctor was contemplating getting me ready for a c-section when one of the nurses talked her into trying the vacuum first. (Thank goodness for that nurse!). Aiyana arrived at 4:24 pm. I have several stitches down there from my episiotomy but barely missed a c-section.

She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.

Congratulations on her arrival. Enjoy!

That's great that you were able to avoid a c-section! I've heard that the "sunny-side up" deliveries can be extremely hard. Way to push that baby out! (With the help of the vacuum--thank goodness for medical tools!)

Congrats again on the birth of Aiyana.

Congratulations. Enjoy your baby as this heals the stitches very fast. I mean we forget the stitiches when we are enjoying the baby. I had very bad ones with DD but anytime I was holding her, I never felt the pain.
