I had been losing my plug a couple of days before my due date so i knew something was happening..there were some uncomfortable contractions but nothing that impressed me enough to go to L&D. So on the day i was due i went in for a check up..i was barely a centimeter dialated and thick, great..they made an appt for Mon 11/14 to see what my options were. In the meantime the doctor ordered an NST so off i went..this was at 2pm on 11/9.

The test showed that after every contraction, which were about 5 min apart, the baby's heart decelerated, not a good sign. The doctor then told me that i would not be going home and will be induced. Um, no i'm not getting induced. I can stay in the hospital but no induction. Obviously baby is not ready if i'm not even dilated. I asked if baby was in a lot of danger, she said no. I then said no induction. Fine. She kept monitoring me and the same thing was happening. By 6:30 that day she gave me another option, cervidil, or something like that. Not really being induced but getting the cervix going. After getting informed on it i agreed. Within 2 hours i was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced..i was getting quite uncomfortable. I walked around to help things along. Good thing was since the contractions were getting stronger the baby seemed to do well with them and not decelerate anymore..good sign. By 10pm they took off the cervidil and let me continue on my own.

Holy cow i was in labor!! I was very uncomfortable. They let me have some soup but i soon puked that out (sorry, gross). They offered me drugs and i said no. I didn't want to slow anything down.

By 2am the next day i was only 2cm and 100% effaced..weird because the contractions were coming every 2 min and strong as all heck! My body kept pushing without control. I went from 2 to 10cm in half an hour and at 2:32am Elias was born inside the sac..my water never broke..lol. And i actually gave birth on my own because since i was only 2cm dilated everyone left me alone thinking i had a ways to go..after the bed caught Elias i pressed the nurse button and told them i had my baby. I didn't have time to call anyone..just popped the baby out.

He weighed 6lbs 1oz and was 19 1/4 in. He was a bit sleepy at first but soon took to nursing..now he won't get off me..lol

I know!! Leave it to me to have funky births..lol..i'm just glad he's healthy

I also had the same issue. I was effaced but not dilating, however my contractions were coming closer and closer together and strong. I dilated from 1 cm to 9 in about 15 minutes!

popping over from july playroom and the breastfeeding room....awesome birth! I dilated fast and had no meds too. Its the best way to go I think---course I have nothing to compare it too lol

That is absolutely CRAZY!!! I can not believe it. I am sitting here with my jaw on the floor. Glad all turned out well and you have a healthy baby boy!! Congrats!
