Since some of us may start our nurseries or the corner of your room where the baby's crib is going soon, I figured it was maybe time to start this thread. (I'm starting lil bean's room at the end of this month or middle of next month once we move).

You can just even take a picture of the room empty to begin with and then we can all watch your progress.

Well, we won't be setting up the baby's room until sometime in July (we're moving again in June to California, and then my mom's having a baby shower for me in mid-July, so I think I'll get most of my stuff then!) but we already know the theme of the nursery, so I thought I'd post here and save myself the trouble later lol Delete this if it's not supposed to be here!

We're using John Lennon's "Real Love" theme - I'm totally in love with it It's gender-neutral, and it has lots of great colors in it. Not to mention my husband and I are huge Beatles/John Lennon fans, so we're hoping to pass that on to the baby lol Here's some pix of the set (we already bought the quilt, fitted sheet, bumper, and crib ruffle):

You know, I didn't realize that was on my website until you posted it in my GB. LOL. It's a cute theme.

Here is what I have so far for the baby's room...

It's not much, but it's real oak, not the light stuff in stores. And my parents got it for $10 bucks at a church sale.

Although it is 12 hours away right now in MA and I won't get it here until July when my parents bring all my baby stuff from my shower I'll be having up there.

I'll be thinking of a theme as soon as we find out the sex on the 26th!

DH wants dinosaurs if it's a boy, I wanted to be a bit more creative though!

If you do decide to go with dinosaurs if it's a boy I just saw a really cute dinosaur
outfit in PotteryBarn Kids.

We are going with the main color as a soft yellow with accents of orange & teal. I don't really like themes or overly boyish or girly stuff, so I am painting little buzzing bees kind of sporadically around the room. I found crib bedding at target.com that is yellow gingham with a little buzzing bee on it, so its perfect. I am going to have chenille pillows and ginghams as my main patterns. Our little one will be in the bedroom with us atleast until they can sleep through the night. But, we will have the nursery set up for napping and keeping clothes and all the sweet baby things.

My nursery was yellow, orange & green but it was that 70s style, so I am just updating how my nursery was. Depending on what we have, we will change the room a bit more girly or boyish as they get older.

That's cute! I was also thinking of not going with a theme at first. But I am not creative and can't paint for poo!

I was thinking something along these lines as well though:

I am very OCD about things and I'm afraid if we choose one set theme, we won't be able to find things that match exactly.

But then I didn't know what I could put up on the walls with a theme like the ones above. Any suggestions?

I mean, there are no creatures, or plants, or such to buy for wall hangings.
