Well, I'll try not to make this too long. When I was about 34 to 35 weeks along my dr. started talking about a c-section because the baby was breech and he had been that way for a long time. So I kinda prepared myself for it, had it in the back of my head. At my 36 week appointment he set the date, August 24th, in case the baby didn't turn by then. I was exactly 38 weeks on the 24th. A couple of days before my c-section date I had my final OB appt., they did one last ultrasound, still breech, but my fluid level had dropped to less than half of what it was the week before. My dr. assured me it was fine and since it was only 2 days we just kept the original date. They told me to be at the hospital at 8:30 A.M. but my surgery wouldn't be until after 3 P.M. They just wanted to have me there and ready. We got to the hospital on time, just me and DH, since c-section was later our families were just going to wait at home. I checked in and they told me I was going in MUCH sooner than expected! They started getting me ready at 10:30!!! I had to call alot of people pretty quick. By the time they got every thing ready it was after 11:30 when they started the surgery. I had a spinal block instead of an epidural. Within just a couple of minutes after starting they said "Ok dad look up". And my idiot husband, who does not handle blood very well, stood up and looked over the curtain!!! I have NEVER seen that shade of pale white on a living person! I kept telling him to sit back down and all he could say was "I'm ok, I'm ok" Then I heard the baby cry best sound in the world! Ian Connor was born at 11:52 A.M. weighing in at 6 pounds 13 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. He scored an 8 and a 9 on his apgars. He is the best baby in the world! In my oppinion anyways Sorry this was so long. Thanks for listening. Brandi
