Hello ladies, I'm back and with news!!!!
Hello mommies, how is everyone doing so far in their pregnancy? I’ve missed a lot since I’ve been gone. My doctor put me on bed rest July 14th. I had an appointment on that day and she discovered that I was already 2cm dilated with bulging membranes. While I was there I started getting contractions so I was sent up to L&D. I was on magnesium for 4 days to stop the contractions, lucky they stopped and so I was then admitted into the hospital.
My mom and sister helped out with the kids. Thank God for my family. I so wanted not to be in the hospital on bed rest but everyone insisted it was for the best. My doctor felt I could rupture at any given time and she wanted me to be monitored at all times. I think during the whole time I watched every Baby Story on TLC. LOL. I had several ultrasounds done to determine the weight of the baby and was given two shots of steroids for my baby’s lungs.
August 10th at 32 weeks, I started getting contractions again. They weren’t that bad just a tightening feeling. My doctor checked me and she told me “Well Nelsy your 4 cm already, today is the day!” She told me I could choose between a vaginal delivery or a c-section. Either way I go she would support my decision. So I choose to delivery vaginal. I was told I couldn’t get an epidural until my blood test results come back saying it’s okay. They had me on a blood thinner and it had to be checked to make sure it was at a safe level for an epidural. Well within the hour I was a full 10 cm and ready to push, with no pain medication. My water had not ruptured at all and I was feeling so much pain and pressure. My doctor broke my water and in three pushes I gave birth to my son, Jordan.
Jordan weighed in at 3 lbs 9oz and 16 inches long. He’s in the NICU and will remain there for a while. But he’s doing great with his breathing and feeding. I’m so happy because this was my first pregnancy that actually went past 28 weeks. But it’s also a sad feeling for me, I miss being pregnant. I wish it could’ve gone all 9 months but at least my son got to stay in the oven for an extra month. His stay at the NICU won’t be a long one now. I just wanted to say thank you to the mommies who emailed me with your concerns. I didn’t have a chance to get my labor buddy’s phone number, if not I would’ve called a long time ago. I’ll still be around posting though. So good luck ladies, you guys are next only a month and a half to go!!!
