I woke up at 4am on Tuesday, Sept 6 and felt like I had wet myself a little. I got up and went to the bathroom and noticed a tiny bit of pink blood on the toilet paper. I went back to bed and at about 4:15, I started having contractions. They weren't that painful and weren't at a regular interval, so I decided to go to sleep again and go on to work and call my doctor when his office opens at 8:30. Dh told me it was time to get up and I told him what was going on. We went on to work and I continued having contractions. By 8, they were getting much more painful and were 3-5 min apart. I called the doctor at 8:45 and they told me to go to the hospital. We ran home to pick up our stuff and the car seat and went to the hospital. We got there at 10 and I was 2-3cm and having contractions every 5 min that lasted at least a min. They monitored me and when I was at a 4, they admitted me and took blood so they could get me my epidural. Unfortunately by the time I could get it, the anesthisiologist was in a c-section, so I had to wait. At 2:30, I was a 6 and in excruciating pain, but the anesthesiologist showed up. I love that man! By 4, I was an 8-9, but my doctor was at another hospital doing a c-section, so we had to wait for him since my water had not broken yet. He got there about 6:30 and I was ready to push. He broke my water and I started pushing. I pushed as hard as I could from 7-9pm, but she wasn't coming. She had turned her head so she just kept hitting my pelvis. He decided to try forceps to turn her head and of course I started crying and agreed. He reached in and couldn't use them because there was no room, so at 9pm he said I had to have a c-section and we headed to the delivery room. I was crying so much because I was worried about her. I was also sick. At 9:41pm, Samantha was born. She is perfect and beautiful! Her apgars were 9 and 9. She weighed 7 lbs 11oz and was 20 1/2" long.
