Let me start off by saying either I delivered in the hospital from hell or most of you ladies had forgotten by the time you got home.lol. I had a nightmare of a time. well I started having contractions Saturday the 17th, 5 min apart. but I was sent home until they became stronger. well they didnt become stronger until noon on Tuesday. I waited until the they were 2 1/2 minutes apart and painful. little did I know what pain was. we left for the hospital at 8 pm. good thing because by 9 they were on top of each other I was only 4cm and 80% effaced. so I had a ways to go yet. I got my epidurial around 11pm. by 1 am Wensday I knew something was amiss I was feeling the contractions. I knew I shouldnt be. but my nurse ignored my pleas until 3:30. when she found out my epidurial wasnt set up right and I wasnt getting my doses. once my loading dose had warn off I was only getting a small amount. I was more pissed at the nurse of ignoring me than feeling pain. 6am I was 10cm and 100% effaced and had my water broken and ready to go but my Dr. wanted to wait a while for her to move down . 9am I started to push. I was still too numb to feel exactly what I was doing. so I have a sneaking suspision that my Dr. shut off my pain meds. the anastheologist warned me that they like to do that. I understand I was too numb but my god! give a girl a break. I didnt want to do it natural. but thats what I ended up doing kinda. I was pretty numb at 9am but after three hours of pushing, pitocin drip because my contractions stopped at 10am I felt every moment and cm if her trip thru the birth canal. I wasnt the best women to witness. crying, pleading and even a little screaming toward the end. but thank goodness she is here. at 12:10pm on the 21st, 6 lbs 14 oz, 20 1/2 inchs. she has been great. looks like her father. who was there. he didnt say much. but he was helpfull and a good deal of physical support. the nurses however in my book were the things sensitivity training were invented for. even my mother commemented on a few of there attitudes. I basicly had to tell my Dr. that I was leaving after two days there. she tryed to get me to stay for more breast feeding training, which we dont need because we are doing fine with it since she was an hour old! needless to say I wasnt impressed at all. but its over now and we are home and settling in. pics to follow later.
