It all started when I was sitting on the couch and eating my sandwich. It was 3:50 in the afternoon, and I was chillin'. When I leaned forward to get up, I felt my water break. Weird feeling. I called my ex to come and get Violette for me, and then I told Jeff that my water had broke. OMG...he was so funny; running around like a chicken with his head cut off. I thought he was going to bust.
My contractions were 5 min apart 5 minutes later. About 4:15, we headed for the hospital. We arrived, and I sat on the bed waiting for a nurse to come in for about 20 minutes...but it seemed like forever. She came in, checked me..I was dialated to a 3. They hooked up an IV to start fluids. My BP was pretty high, so they gave me medication for that as well. I had to wait to get the fluids in before I could get my epidural (Which I wanted REALLY BAD).
Finally, the nurse checked me at 6:45, and I was at a 7. They came in and gave me the epidural..I was forever grateful. It was kinda embarrasing, because everytime I had a contraction, I gushed fluid all over the floor It kicked in about 15 minutes later and I could finally chill. My nurse told me when I felt pressure, to call her in to check me out.
Well, at 8:10..I wanted to nap, but I started feeling just a bit of pressure. I waited a couple of contractions, but I thought I would call her just to be sure. It wasn't even that much pressure. But when she went to check me, his head was coming. She called for the doc, and two pushes later Ethan was born at 8:20 Saturday October 8th. I couldn't have asked for a better labor, or a better baby for that matter!
They other embarrasing thing...he was born in such a rush of fluid, that one of the nurses slipped in it and almost hit her head on the sink..I felt so bad!
