im sorry but ouuuuuucccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
kara is teething and has this week decided that my nipples are a great thing to chew! erm.... no they are not little lady!!
im bruised and so sore from it! i have stopped feeding her when she chews and she will go back on 5 mins later and all ok but by then its too late cos im so blinking sore.
i tried pumping to avoid it while i recover but that isnt working because now they are bruised, the suction from the pump hurts too!
any suggestions? i dont want to just stop again until i recover because i dont want to risk drying up again and not being able to restart but my poor nipples cant take much more!
Friends are the family you choose yourself and I love my JM sisters!
((((((Hugs)))))) Ouch! Sarah, I feel your pain! (literally! Lol) Natasha was an early teether too and wouldn't take a dummy or a teething ring or anything. She liked my nipples best The best thing I found was to take her off as soon as she started to bite and she did learn quite quickly that biting was not the route to go.
That doesn't really help with the damage to she's already done though You could try feeding and pumping from one side only (apart from relieving engorgement) for a day and then swap to the other side the next day to give one side time to recover each time. Also, you could try warm and cold compresses to soothe your nipples, and don't forget to use some nipple cream too.
I hope she stops chomping on you soon - you're not a chew toy!
