We've been supplementing for 2 weeks. My doctor's office recommended Enfamil Lipil. The past few days DS has had intense screaming fits and a lot of gas and runny poop. Yesterday he had what looked like cottage cheese in his poop. Went to the pedi yesterday and she wants us to try to switch to soy formula. Has anyone else's little one had trouble with starting formula? He only has 2-3 oz a day and the rest BM so I was hoping to avoid such issues. She said whatever milk proteins are in my BM from my diet are probably broken down enough to not bother him but the formula is too hard for him. But I have read that a lot of babies with milk protein intolerance also have soy protein intolerance. Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems and if switching to soy helped.

I'm sorry that your little one is going through that. Kyleigh was started on Similac Advanced Early Shield and didn't have any problems, so I don't personally have experience with this. My niece was started on regular Similac, and then she began to have a rash on her, and extreme fussiness. The doctor switched her to Soy formula, and everything went fine. I hope that switching helps!
