We know you're out there! We have a lot of lurkers but not many posters so I'd loveo see that turn around. If you are reading this please say hello and tell us what brought you here - are you currently supplementing or thinking about it? Did you want some advice or info? Were you just curious and dropped by to see what the board was like?
Whether you're a regular lurker or a first time visitor come and introduce yourself - we'd love to meet you!
Saying hi! Baby is only 11 days old so I am still trying to figure out what I am doing. We started supplementing in the hospital because of jaundice and have continued because she is a marathon nurser and I like an occasional break, and her daddy really likes to feed her. Right now she's getting about 3oz of formula over the course of a day.
I'm lurking to see what other people are doing and probably to give myself reassurance that what we're doing is okay. I have some guilt for supplementing for purely selfish reasons. It was one thing when I was worried about her health but right now it really is just nice to hand her to her daddy for a bit.
First of all, it's not selfish at all - you need a break from the constant nursing every now and then and if you can't pump then formula gives you a chance to have a break while letting your LO's daddy take a turn feeding as well. It sounds like you are doing a great job of balancing things!
