When out in public, do you breastfeed or do you offer the bottle instead?

When out in public, I try to offer boob first but sometimes its just too 'crazy' around us and doesn't let my baby focus on my boob so then I have to resort to the bottle. I pack one every time though just in case we're ever caught in a situation where I can't breast feed.

I always do a bottle in public. I'm just not super comfortable with nursing in front of others.

I try to do the boob first, but Riley is usually distracted and doesn't eat well so we end up doing a bottle. He doesn't even eat well if we're in a nursing lounge at the mall or where ever. It's just not the same as at home.

i'm a "whip it out and feed ya, girl!" kind of momma. I'll nurse wherever. With or without a cover. She's a pretty good eater, luckily.

i wish i were like that jen! i'm totally comfortable around other women or my family, but feel weird around guys. i couldn't do it in like the middle of the mall because i'm awkward around 13 year old boys (like my nephews!)

I'm more this way since we stopped using the nipple shield. It was a little awkward in public trying to position the shield, then get Riley to latch...which wasn't easy...hence the shield use. The nipple would get flashed a little more often than it does now without the shield.

I'm terrified of flashing nipple! I mean - someone said it best (I forget who) when they said its not like we are doing a strip tease - we are feeding our children! But - even if I'm at my parents house, I'll reluctantly nurse with my udder cover.... but I really feel funny doing it - and then when Michael starts slurping!!

I"ve never been very coordinated with the nursing anyway... so maybe that has something to do with it. I'll offer a bottle typically in public.
