Looking for any mommies out there that have breastfed adopted children.
I am a new mommy and am in the adoption process, I have never breastfed before. Since I will not have the opportunity to bond pre-nataly with my child, I would love to have the opportunity to bond through breast feeding. I've read several books, seen studies on bonding/attachment and I'd love to hear from other adoptive mothers. I know you can go through bonding and attachment without breastfeeding, but am still interested.
Any insight, positives and negatives are appreciated!
Congrats! My friend adopted twin boys and made herself lactate and was able to nurse both her boys for some time. She said she really enjoyed the nursing/bonding process! I know that if I was unable to have my own, I would definitely want to give it a try. Here's one source for information for you.
