Happy New Year's ladies!!!! Do any of you have workout goals this year? Have you started a new diet? New workout plan?

Our rinky dink little town just got a little fitness center opened and yesterday was opening day. My best friend and I went TWICE (yikes!)! One of our friends is doing some ab/toning classes. Yesterday morning, we were her guinea pigs and we did a mini class. Holy cannoli, it HURT! Last night, we went back for the full class, which was even more painful and then did about 30 minutes on the treadmills. My abs are insanely sore today, but I know it's a good thing. Melissa, I thought of you because they have "kettle corn" there! I'm going to ask my friend to show me the best way to work out with them. I may go again for some cardio on the treadmill or elliptical machine tonight. Tomorrow, I may go for another brutal class. Have you all done planks? They are the WORST!!!

I hope that you all had a wonderful New Year's and that this year is full of motivation, feeling good about ourselves, and of course happy and healthy pregnancies!

SARAH!!! I have missed you I haven't started yet but I'm calling today to get my appointment to start a new diet. It's call the HCG diet. They have 2 different ways. One is the drops that you put under your tongue and the other is injections. I'm going to try the drops. I know a few people on it and they lost 30+lbs in their first round of it. I'm really excited to try it!!

How is everyone else doing?

Sarah how have things been going for you?

Yay!! Sarah so glad to see you on here. And sounds like you've got the motivation that I've been lacking lately.

I have decided for the new year to jump back on the workout wagon and hopefully you guys can help me. Today I am actually planning on doing some Kettle Corn..lol. I have a new workout I got for Christmas that I'm going to try.

DH got me a TRX for Christmas which is suspension training. If you haven't seen it you should check it out. Really hard. I will have to wait for May to try it out but I'm hoping it will be the cure to get me back into shape. Here's link to suspension training. TRX Suspension Training & TRX Rip Training: Total Body Workouts | TRX
I can't wait.

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!!

I've heard of the HCG diet, but I don't know too much about it. This may be a stupid question, but will it have any effect on testing for pregnancy? How does it work?

I've been pretty good. My BF and I are trying to work things out. We're taking it slowly and one day at a time. I'm living alone now and so is he and I think the time apart has actually been good for us. We're getting along better than ever before and it's been really good. I'm still DTD with him, but I'm not really charting...so I guess I'm in NTNP mode. I did take an OPK (it was positive) yesterday because I felt O pains and I temped this morning to see if I ovulated. I didn't ovulate yet, so I'll temp again tomorrow to confirm that it happened today. It's been really nice to not have that pressure to TTC. In the meantime, I'm determined to get into shape and make life better for ME!

Sarah so glad that you are BF are trying to work things out. Time apart can sometimes be the best medicine for a relationship. I'm going to laugh when you turn up pregnant while NTNP!! So glad that you are focusing on you and doing what you need to do for you.

the trx does look really hard. I'm hoping it will help get my abs back in shape!!

I got my kettlebells in tonight. Lots of fun, but now everytime I do them, all I can think of is kettle corn, thanks to you girls!!

Melissa, I did kettlebells tonight at the gym!!! I did the "workout of the day" and one of the things was kettlebell swings. Very interesting! We also did some more ab stuff and I am really dreading tomorrow because I will not be able to move! Ab work is much different for me when I have someone pushing me to keep going! I don't have the opportunity to cheat! LOL!

It's not a stupid question at all I actually was thinking the same thing when my friends were talking about it. So I really researched it. The injections can cause you to have a positive pregnancy test. They also cause a lot of side effects. The HCG drops is such a low dosage that it should not register on a pregnancy test. And they haven't determined how yet but a lot of women get pregnant while on the HCG drops if they aren't using protection.... So I'm very excited about trying it. Even if it doesn't help me achieve pregnancy I'll be dropping weight like crazy

Melissa I can't believe you have the energy to do that workout! That is crazy! You go girl! How are you feeling?

Katie, that is so interesting! Here's another stupid question. If men do the HCG shot for the diet, do they test positive? Or is it something that men just shouldn't do? Also, when you get pregnant while on the diet, do you have to stop? I really hope you get pregnant while you're on it! That would be awesome!!!

I am in SO much pain today! I feel like my abs are on fire and certain movements feel like they are killing me! It's all for a good cause though so I'll just suffer through it! Tomorrow morning, I may go in for some cardio on the machines. Tomorrow afternoon, I'm going up to the casino with my BF and I'm pretty sure the hotel has a gym so I may head down there Friday morning for a workout. I feel so motivated! Finally!!

Sarah you have become a mad woman in your workouts. I hope you get in great shape!!

Katie that diet sounds interesting. I hope it works for you. I am feeling good. I still get sick in the mornings every once in a while, but it's a small price to pay to have a healthy baby. Other than that I'm doing really good.

Today will be pilates for me and I'm hoping to walk 3 miles on the treadmill. We shall see how my motiviation is this afternoon. Sarah I need some of your motivation!!

Hi girls!!! I missed seeing ya'll here

Sarah you are absolutely on fire with those workouts. Can I have some of your motiviation I have done planks and yes they are HARD. Katie I have heard lots about the HCG diet. I am really curious to see how it works for you. Definitely KUP! Melissa I can't believe how far along you are now - and that you are still working out. You go girl!

I am jumping back on the bandwagon as well. Did 30 mins on the elliptical yesterday and plan on working out again today. Trying to ease back into things in hopes of getting motivated again.

Joanna so glad that your back on the bandwagon also!!

yesterday I did some pilates and a little bit of walking. Not as much as I wanted to. Just don't seem to have enough time in the day sometimes.

I missed everyone also over the Christmas Holidays so it's so good to be back with you guys and back at working out.

Sarah what's on your agenda today? Any more two a day workouts?

I keep praying that all the ladies on TTCAL will soon be joining Pregnancy After Loss.

Katie, I hope your feeling okay and I'm praying that your dr. appt tomorrow goes well.

Not sure what my workout today will be. We have 2 boy dogs who have forgotten that their both boys so last night for most of the night they were going at it like they were in heat or something..lol. So we didn't get much sleep, not sure if I'll have the energy tonight for a workout.

Sarah I got some new recipes over Christmas that I'm going to try next week. If there good, I'll let you know and I'll post them in the recipe section!!

My motivation is mostly coming from my friends pushing me. It does feel good when it's all over though. I just wish the motivation was more natural. I didn't work out at all on Thursday, but I did go in for an hour yesterday. Today I think my friend and I are going to do the wave at her house. She can't go to the gym because her husband is working and she doesn't have a babysitter for her kids.

Melissa, what is up with your dogs? That is too funny!!! I'm looking forward to seeing some more recipes! You should write a cook book!

Joanna, I'm happy to see you joining us again! How have things been for you?

Katie, I'm thinking about you. How are you doing?

It's perfectly normal for men to take the HCG drops too. The should not test positive with the drops because believe it or not men actually produce HCG. It's a natural hormone in our bodies. If you become pregnant they do tell you to stop the diet. I believe it's more because of the low calories your eating and not the drops themselves. I actually had to postpone that appointment until we see what is going on with my thyroid. I go Wednesday for an ultrasound and blood work.

Sarah don't feel bad. I also have a hard time with having motivation. It's always a lot easier when I have someone pushing me.

Melissa that is too funny about your dogs! We have a small male and large female dog. Our female at times starts humping the small male. It's so weird!! Lol!

Joanna welcome back!!! How are you doing with your workouts?

My dogs are still at it. They haven't kept us up at night so that's good but when we put them outside they start going at it like dogs in heat. They are nuts. I mean they are both boys so I don't know what's up with them. DH seems to think it is some sort of domination thing.

Sarah I'm glad that you have a friend to help keep you motivated. I wish I had someone here to help keep me motivated and to work out with, but most of my friends are just big couch potatoes.

Tonight I am going to be doing some more kettle bells (and yes I had some kettle corn to eat this weekend..lol). I will probably do about 10 minutes of pilates also which is the only ab work I can do right now.

Sarah I would love to put together a cook book if I had the time. I enjoy cooking most of the time. somedays it 's hard to work all day and then go home and cook. tonight we are having red beans and rice which is a recipe I got out of the runners world magazine. It is awesome. I think I have posted it in the recipe section but if not I will post it. It is great and really heallthy.

I hope you ladies have a wonderful Monday!

Hi Ladies!!!

I went to the gym tonight and did the ab/toning class. I wanted to do some cardio on the treadmill, but the machines were all taken. Oh well, I got a good workout anyway. I complain the entire time and it hurts so bad, but it feels really good after. Plus, I LOVE the stretching at the end. That is the best!

Katie, I'm thinking about you and hope everything goes well on Wednesday. I hope it turns out to be minor and has an easy fix.

Melissa, I was going to say the same thing about domination with your dogs. Maybe they're sensing the upcoming arrival of the baby and they're trying to figure things out between themselves. Did you see that video of the Golden Retriever that I posted on Facebook? It was so classic Golden. I love the facial expressions!

I had some spinach & ricotta tortellini for dinner tonight and it was delicious! It's not necessarily the healthiest, but I had chicken salad over mixed greens for lunch so it balances out, I think!

Joanna, how are things going with you?

I hope you all have a great week! Katie, please keep us posted and try not to worry. Things will all work out and we are all here to support you!

Sarah your spinach and ricotta tortellini sounds wonderful. Tonight we are having buttermilk chicken. That is still one of my favorite things to eat and thankfully it is not too bad for you.

Sarah I did see the video on your facebook page. That golden in the video looks almost identical to our golden, Emma and yes they all have the same facial expressions. My golden is my sweet baby girl. it's our crazy shi..zu and schnauser that are having the problems right now. They are just nuts.

I love the stretching the best also. let's me know that my workout is almost over!!

tonight I'll be doing a little bit of pilates which seems to be my favorite thing to do right now and I'm going to try to walk on the treadmill for a little while.

Good Luck at your appointment tomorrow Katie.

I hope everyone has a motivating Tuesday!!

YES!! EXACTLY!!!!

Are your dogs still going at it? Leave it to the Golden to be the sane one! LOL!!

I had the most brutal workout today! I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and bike and then I did the "workout of the day". It consisted of pushups, ab work, jump ropes, weight lifting, and these horrible things called box frog jumps. I am SO sore! But, I know in the end it will be worth it! At least, it had better be!

Katie, I've been thinking about you all day. I hope everything is ok!!!

Sarah you are on a roll! Would you come be my trainer? Jack is sick so I haven't been able to workout much this week. And we are doing a long weekend in Vegas this weekend so probably not much working out until next week.

Melissa - what is the buttermilk chicken you like so much? Recipe? I am on a kick of trying new recipes.

Katie - thinking of your today girl. Hope you get your results in soon!

Joanna if you will look in the recipe section of this forum, I have posted the buttermilk chicken recipe. I got it out of Cooking Light and it is awesome. Sarah tried it and she like it also.

I just posted a new chicken recipe that I tried last night and it was yummy also. We served it over rice with a side of brocolli. Very good. It calls for oil cured olives which I am not sure what those are, but I just used black olives and they tasted really good.

Joanna I'm sorry that Jack has been sick. That is no fun when your little one is sick.

Sarah I need you as my trainer lately also. I have been motivated to workout for about 30 minutes a day but not much more than that. I did some more kettle bells..lol last night. I really like them. You seem to get in both cardio and weights at the same time.

katie I'm thinking of you and hoping your doing okay.

Sarah our dogs have let up a little bit. They are still nuts of course but they have stopped molesting each other..lol. I can handle the crazy the other drives me nuts. And yes the golden is always the good girl. I do baby her though and she is always at my side, by that's just the golden. They love people.
