The only precaution I say is to make sure there are 2 people using two different "guns" and going at the same time! A friend of mine used to pierce ears and said numerous times if it was just her doing one ear at a time, the first ear would freak a child out so bad that the second ear was hard to do with a screaming child and many times was never pierced at all because of the fits children would throw. My friend said she got to the point where she refused to pierce young girls ears if she had to do it one at a time. Thats my advice! Good luck!

I've had different piercings with different methods and I've found the most sterile and least painful way is through an actual body piercer. (It's the most expensive but I didn't experience as much infections. As well I heard about hepititis being transferred through the piercing guns.) Just find a reputable one and make sure they use a onetime needle - some also use a dental seriliazation methods.. Good luck girl! I thought I was a big girl when I got them! (I was five.)

I got Rylee's done at her Pediatricians office. I don't know if there is an age limit or not, but maybe they will do hers. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Erin, I forgot... When I was six or seven, I picked at my backs, caused it scabe over and pushed into my ears... I would recommend sleepers after the healing period. (Hoops are automatic at a piercer's.)

I've always heard not to go to the mall and get them done with the gun - it is the least sterile. i have heard the same about the actual body piercers being the best/least painful way to do it.
