Since I have been having to check my blood sugars after meals for gestational diabetes, I have been checking Austin's as well to work on tweaking his insulin dosage. Anyhow, we have had almost all numbers in the 80-140 range lately!!!! YEAH!!! After months of dealing with his going up into the 200, 300, and even 500s, from him cheating, skipping boluses and just plain out being uncooperative. I think me having to deal with it too has helped him. He can't give me the same excuses now because they aren't flying by me and he knows it. Of course, I know gestional diabetes is way less difficult than type 1, he seems to get quite a kick out of watching me not be able to eat while he boluses up and has his favorite meal. To tell you the truth it makes me smile because I can for once not feel like the big meany.

Good #'s are always a good thing...we had good #'s over the weekend. I had commented to my ds son about good job on being 151 at bedtime & he thought I was making fun of him. I asked more questions about his thoughts & he really wasn't aware why being in his range was a good thing. This was interesting b/c for my son at least trying to pry any info out of them about school, friends, just life in general is soooo hard. So, we actually had a good heart to heart about why being in range is important & mostly that he can ask me anything that is on his mind & that i love him sooo much....he's an awesome kid...
