I see this isn't a very active board, but I'll post my question anyway. Actually, it's not really a question - more a vent.

I'm caring for a 2 year old boy for the weekend (foster care) who has Diabetes. I was trained and everything, but I'm finding this super hard! I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right (blood sugar checks, counting carbs, spacing snacks/meals, mixing and administering insulin,) but he's had low blood sugar twice today (once 41, once 48). Then twice it's been high (358, 298). I'm giving juice boxes and rechecking in 15 mins for lows, and testing for ketones with highs. This seems completely out of control to me. It's soooooooooooooo stressful.

Any words of encouragement or advice?

TIA,
Jess

I wish I had some wonderful words of wisdom, nut I don't. We are dealing with the same thing with my daughter. I also wish this board was more active.
I can say you are not alone.

LOL welcome to the wonderful world of diabetes. My advice would be to give him one juice box then wait 15 minutes to check his blood sugar. It looks like you are over correcting the low. He's a toddler, this is going to happen. You are doing great though!
