I learned about this condition a couple of days ago. I'd never heard of it before, but it makes total sense to me, and I can see why so many kids are misdiagnosed as having a behavioral or learning problem when in fact, it's a hearing problem, even when their hearing ability is perfect.

I have heard of this before, as I studied to become a speech language pathologist. I think you're right that many kids are left undiagnosed of this. It takes a lot of colaboration with doctors/teachers and some people don't want to go through all that. Especially if their child is showing behavioral symptoms of it. Thank you for putting this out for people to read. I think it really does help simply by raising awareness.

This is what the audiologist thought my son had in his left ear, but 3 tests later they determined that he can't hear ANY sound what so ever out of his left ear.
