Nope... not without doctor's orders! Too much can damage teeth and organs. My ped tests for common deficiencies after the age of 5. My oldest son takes Rx vitamin D + calcium (adult strength), but my younger doesn't take anything. My younger was born with IgG deficiency, so he drank PediaSure as a toddler (even though he's a great eater... especially veggies). He hasn't needed it since he was about 2.5 or 3, though.
They only take vitamins on the doctor's orders but if they have no vitamin deficiencies, I don't let them take any at all. We eat healthy foods as much as possible and that's one reason why it's alright not to take vitamins. I think the foods that the kids eat are already enough to ensure that they are healthy.
