When Talan was about 6 or 7 days old and we thought his penis was healed, I changed his diaper, and there were a couple drops of blood on his penis and diaper. When I took the diaper off, he screamed and screamed and mommy felt soo bad. So he's now 3 weeks old, and I'm still putting vaseline on his diaper because I was so scared when I saw how painful it was for him. At the rate we're going, I'm going to be calling him when he's 30 and reminding him to get vaseline at CVS!!

It takes approx 10 days to heal. It may have just been a bit early is all. I am sure by three weeks the vaseline is not necessary though can see why you may be apprehensive. Try using only a small bit until you can use none at all. If it is still scabby now or oozing or generally looking not healed at this point I would do as suggested above and contact the Dr.
