I have a friend who has three kids and has been at least a week overdue with each one.

I have another friend with three kids who has been an average of two weeks early with each one.

So does anyone have a story where they were late with one and early with another? I was a week overdue with Topher and I'm really hoping to be early with this baby! But is it a once-late/always-late type of deal??

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason. I've heard it described in every possible combination.

My first baby was born at wk 35. There was no rhyme or reason for it, no medical reasons, etc, it just happened.

My second baby was born almost right on time, just two days past her due date.

My third baby was born 12 days past his due date.

I really, really hope this one isn't going to follow the sublings 'schedule' !! LOL

They let you go that long after your water broke??? They wouldn't let me go 24 hours past (even though I went into labour on my own anyways) for fear of "infection".

My water broke at 40w4d, had Sophia by the next morning. Eden was a planned c-section at 39w or around there. This one will be the same.

They "let" me because when I went in the morning after it broke when contractions never started, they sent me home because they couldn't get a positive swab. I had an ultrasound the morning he was born after talking to my doc (who was out of town that weekend) and telling her I *knew* it was my water, but they wouldn't listen to me. It showed low fluid and I was induced. I am SO lucky and blessed and thankful that nothing serious happened after having it broken for so long. But she said it re-sealed itself and his head acted as a plug.

My 1st was born at 40wks 3 days. My 2nd at 39wks and my 3rd at 39wks 2 days. Subsequent pregnancies do tend to be born earlier, but that's not a sure thing.
