I think I'm leaking amni fluid, but I don't know. My panties and side of my jeans were damp when I stood up to pee a bit ago. So I called L&D and right when I introduced myself I had a huge zapping pain shoot across my lower back that took my breath away. I feel stupid because I can't remember if that's what contrax feel like or not. It's been 15 minutes and I haven't had another but I changed pants/panties and put on a liner at the docs instruction and I'm supposed to wait an hour to get up and see if there's a gush of any sort.

Blah. How can I have all these kids and still feel like I don't know what I'm doing

Don't worry, I keep thinking the same thing!! Every wetness I feel I hink it's water breaking and have to check, double check and triple check...

I keep going over my water breaking with DD and comparing. lol.

just cause we've BTDT, doesn't mean we remember everything!!! lol

I know how you feel I am always feeling gushes, and never know if it is just urine or other fluids I am assuming mine is urine from the scent but who knows. I hope you get some answers.

it could just be discharge. I've been having a ton of scentless discharge that just gushes out when I stand (so annoying!). It even dampens my entire butt sometimes. WHen I was leaking fluids with Marcus, it made my undies and pants a lot more than damp! Zapping pain doesn't sound like a contraction either. Sounds more like a pinched nerve or something. a contraction, especially back ones, don't start out strong like that. they def have a growing sensation, then a peak and then taper off or wrap around.

I went to a refresher class and the teacher said that if it is slippery (like lubricant), then it is discharge. I don't know how to tell the difference between amniotic fluid and urine though I suspect smell would be a good indicator.

Don't beat yourself up, every pregnancy is different and isn't everyone talking about those lovely hormones that make you forget about the uncomfortable last month and the labor pains and delivery? It's not you, its nature! In all seriousness, I hope its not amniotic fluid yet and things calm down for you.

When my waer broke with DS I took a sample on my clean finger and rubbed it on a mirror, if it looks like a fern it's your water when it dries.

It was just third tri discharge. Spent the night in L&D because I'm so paranoid with this pregnancy.

It was not an enjoyable experience. She had to use a speculum to check to see if it was amniotic fluid, and because the nature of the test she couldn't use any lubrication for it. HORRIBLE!!! Then she checked my cervix which was completely closed and all that good stuff.

I will NOT be getting my cervix checked from here on out. Leave my lady parts alone thankyouverymuch.

I had to have the horrible speculum sans lub yesterday and honestly I didnt feel a thing. I am THAT swollen down there It's ridiculous!
I'll be getting checked every week from here on out!

The swolleness is why it hurt!

I feel the exact same way! Everyday I ask myself how is it possible that I have a 3-year-old? I'm SUPER clueless! I think I must have blocked out everything from the first pregnancy/delivery/first few days of new baby! So I'm in for a huge surprise..... I just keep thinking hopefully things will come back to me....
