I'm glad it looks better today. I hope that she only continues to get better and better from here on out, and that she's home with her girls and Eric soon!

Oh my gosh! I just signed in for the first time today and see this! I'm glad things are looking better and I really hope she gets to go home soon.
Has she had her baby yet? I thought she had but I'm not sure....

I hope she's okay soon, I don't know much about the illness but it sounds very serious.

She has been in my thoughts all day. I hope tomorrow brings better news and she recovers quickly. I'm sure it's very hard on her to be away from her baby. It's very scary.

Update from tonight:
"For the time being, they think Katie may have something called acute respratory distress syndrome. It is apparently really bad and could leave her on a ventilator for "many" days. There is no one thing that causes it. It could be complicated by something called post partem cardio myopathy. That basicly means her heart is really not as effective as it should be because of all the fluid her body was hoarding while she was pregnant and it is causing fluid to build up all over her body including her lungs. As Katie would say, "shes' a hot mess".
Edited to add:
Her husband did mention that they lowered her sedation level so she is somewhat alert and has been able to scribble a few things as well as use a little bit of "sign language" with him. She knows she has many people praying for her.
