So... Two years ago, it was just me and my husband. We did 3-4 loads of laundry a week (clothing, sheets, towels). Then we brought home a baby. Add another load of laundry a week (his clothes/blankets/etc. - I don't count cloth diapers in my laundry totals). Now we're at 4-5, right?

But! Add a second child last month, and suddenly my laundry loads seem to have quadrupled! How does the addition of one little person make for so much more laundry??? I'm doing at least one load a day, and usually two! The math just doesn't make sense. Going up and down the stairs lugging baskets of clothing and linens is getting really old.

What's your laundry routine like? How often do you wash? How many loads are you doing in an average week?

with 4 kids, DH and myself.. I am averaging about a load a day..some days more (if my daughter decides to try her whole closet on and then throw it in the floor) and sometimes less. Thankfully our laundry room is right off the living room. We use to have one in a basement and I hated it.

With 4 kids, myself and dh, if I don't do AT LEAST 2 loads a day, it will get out of control. I always start the day by throwing one in. Then, my almost teenage daughter has basketball clothing that needs to be washed daily due to her athletics class, and during the summer I have swimsuits and towels to add in.

Between my DH, myself, a 2 year old and a newborn...1-2 loads a day. I usually do darks one day, lights the next, baby the next, linens once a week, usually Monday so we have clean bedding and towels for the week...

I do 1 load almost every day I think at the moment. DH's PT gear and uniforms = lots of laundry and I try to keep up on it rather than letting it pile up ever. That's for just DH and I though.. we shall see when baby's here and we'll have cloth diapers thrown into the equation then too.

probably 4-5 loads a week? sometimes less sometimes more. I would hate to be doing it everyday, besides I don't pay for water or hydro at my parents so I wouldn't do that to them I try to get it all done in one day and then make it stretch for an entire week. But Bella's clothes usually get done twice a week just because she has so little clothing.

Uh way to many! We average about 2 loads a day, sometimes more sometimes less. I remember when it was me and dh I would do maybe a load every two or three days and then half the time they were so small it was ridiculous! Now my poor washer gets put to the test cuz I pack that sucker full everytime I use it

I do laundry daily. That's the only way I can keep up with it. If I don't have a full load, I just let the laundry soak, because I can almost guarantee that at some point, Marjorri will have a massive blow out or spit up on everything. lol

We do multiple loads every day. I don't count or I'd go crazy. I thought we did a lot when it was DH, DS1, DD, and me. But the addition of 2 little spit up machines has multiplied our laundry exponentially.
